"When impossible comes in contact with a woman like me…"
During her school days in Zaria, Zoza found respite in her passion for art and that made her embark on what many would consider impossible feats.
Surviving personal challenges, horrors and overcoming ailment, she’s proud to be an art advocate for impact and design. Looking back to her beginning, she chronicles her life’s story and efforts till date.
Enjoy!! Zoza is an artist in every sense of the word and she expresses herself through various mediums and crafts.
A hybrid of artist and designer in almost equal ratio, and the founder of Asah Bara creative studio.
Her authentic, hand crafted, signature expressions are taking art from the realm of the occasional into the every day space. Through her award-winning handcrafted pieces, designed to be an active part of daily life, Zoza Icha is presenting Nigerian culture in the light she created.
Her career in the creative industry began at the charity arm of the BBC in Nigeria. Over the course of 9 demanding years there, she had grown from an intern into a seasoned producer and director of content for radio, television and the web. Her exit from the BBC Media Action in 2016 saw the full bloom of her art practice from a side hustle into force to be reckoned with in the art and design scene, and source of inspiration for many.
