A Knowledge Mindset: What You Know Comes from Where You Sit | Cynthia Young | TEDxBeaconStreet

Where do you sit — in the company boardroom, in the office, at home? It could have more to do with what you know than you think. Dr. Cynthia J. Young shares how organizations supporting a knowledge management mindset for all employees rather than just those in senior leadership positions have less employee turnover and increased feelings of trust and inclusion, while improving productivity and preventing losses of millions of dollars annually. Dr. Cynthia J. Young is the founder of CJ Young Consulting, LLC, a knowledge management consulting firm and a curriculum developer and instructor with Leidos, a defense contracting company. After 23 years of service, she retired from the Navy and became a defense contractor. Between practicing knowledge management in the military and as a contractor, Dr. Young continues to press that having a knowledge management mindset supports overall organization health. In this talk, she shares why a knowledge management mindset starts as a child and should be embraced in the organization.
